EVÈNMAN KOMINOTE
At All Kosts
During the current period of intense political instability in Haiti, which is marked by gang violence and frequent demonstrations, a group of courageous theatre artists chooses to resist the ever-present climate of insecurity that surrounds them through politically charged storytelling made for their communities. As we take a front-row seat to watch their process behind the scenes, we become immersed in mesmerizing performances that intertwine fiction and reality showcasing the resilience of the Haitian people.
Capturing the talents of multiple artists through seamless visual choreography, director Joseph Hillel allows us to spend time with the artists and dreamers who hold the lessons and pride of Haiti’s revolutionary history close to their hearts, who have a deep understanding of their artistic duty to reflect the times no matter the cost, and whose striking performances and storytelling styles hold all the grace and dignity of a people with an unbreakable faith in a progressive and thriving future.
